OI!
Thats way cool! I hope I get to see Nick when he gets here! Maybe I~ll get to serve with him. Probs not, but you know, it~s cool. Brazil is Brazil. Nothing new. Nothing too new at least.
Yeah, and we had a baptism this week. Erondina, she is a super sweet lady. Love her to death. We found her when we were contacting. Her family isn~t really supportive because they all go to Assembleia, but nonetheless, she got baptized, and we may teach her grandson, but not sure yet. A lot of the people here are MOLIS, or kinda flaky. In Detroit, we called them TRUE DETROITERS. But here we talk to them, they are receptive, they know its true, and when you ask them to keep a commitment, they say.... i~ll try, but probably not.
But yesterday, we had a really cool experience. Let me tell you, it was pouring rain. like...pouring. and we were out working. the time changed so it got dark early too. I had just finished making my 100th contact of the week and sister melo was on 99. So we were walking to visit some less actives, but then sister melo felt really prompted to go this one less active that we found, Enrique. We felt good about going, so we walk over there. Knock the door, and his Grandma Velma answers. We talk to her for a minute and she says that he no longer lives there. So we ask her if we can share a message with her about the Plan of Salvation. So we~re in her house and she tells us about how her son died and she~s greiving because of it. So we started teaching the Plan of Salvation. I had never taught the plan of salvation before, I would always just bear my testimony at the end of the lesson, but this time, Sister Melo was like....do you think you can start, and without hesitation (which is strange now that I think about it), I started teaching. But it wasn~t the usual way we taught. It was the way that I taught in Detroit. THis new teaching style we were trying right before I left. And so I started using the pamphlet and started by talking about the atonement. And all of a sudden I realized I was talking, and it was so smooth. I remember thinking.. whoah my portugues is like butter right now, but i~m probs saying the wrong things. We taught. the Spirit was so strong. We invited her to baptism and she said yes. It was so cool. And afterwards, sister melo was like... holy crap! you sounded like a brazilian when you were teaching. WOOOO! GIFT OF TONGUES!
In other news. I dont really have any. Really hot. Really sweaty. Really dry.. I thought when I came on my mission, I wouldn~t hear country music for a really long time. I~m pretty sure the brazilians here in goiania play more american country music than the south.
Also, I saw a dress at this one store. It was really cheap.. like 20 american dollars, and so i went to try it on, but it didn~t cover my knees, and i was like... oh no its too short, and the lady at the store was like... if you want i~ll make you this dress just longer for the same price. only here in goiania can they do that. its so legit. so i~m about to get this super chique dress. all of the stores do that.
Thats all
love
