I have the news of when I leave. Not "officially" as in president hasn't told me yet, because he won't tell me until a few days in advanced. But the zone leaders told my district leader, and my district leader told pretty much... all the elders in the district, and they've known for weeks. I leave in 2 weeks, when the transfer starts in Brazil. This week has been NUTS. I can't wait to tell you all about it. I honestly don't know where to start.
Well, we did a lot of contacting this week, which was kind of hard, because everyone was gone for thanksgiving break, so campus was EMPTY. We made it fun though. On Monday, I started having really bad pains in my thumb. It felt like I broke it, because it felt pretty similar to when I broke my foot. But surprise. I called the doctor, he told me to take 3 advil at every meal for 2 weeks and call him back, but it was really hurting my stomach, so I just went out and bought a brace. Chances are that I have arthritis in my thumb. I don't really know, but it's kind of funny. I've found ways to laugh about it!
Also, on Thursday.. Thanksgiving, I made lumpia. You'd be so proud because they were delicious. There was a chinese family that came over to the Elm's House for Dinner too, and they schooled my egg rolls with their egg rolls. It's all good though. I tried.
But before that. I made the lumpia, we were leaving the apartment, and I fell down the stairs. I saw it all happening and managed to set down the lumpia before they flew everywhere, and then i proceeded to fall down the stairs even further. My comps were liek... Are you okay? I think I was in shock and was like... I can't feel my legs! I was also wearing 3 pairs of tights and socks and snow boots. So there in the hallway, I had to try and shimmy those off, without the feeling in my legs. But I was totally fine. It's a little sore, but there's no issues with it. We then went street contacting until dinner at the Elms'. A lot of people talk about how when they were missionaries, they received extra health or whatever because they were being missionaries and they never get sick. I feel like the exact opposite has happened to me. Lice, Colds,
Here's a funny one. So on Thanksgiving, our investigator, T was like... I'm getting you guys presents for Christmas. And I told him, "No." And then he kept going ON and ON about how it's too late, he already bought them, so I told him to give it to the elders. I thought it was all cleared up, but then we went to teach him on Saturday, and he was like... I didn't listen. I bought you guys presents. So he just says, everyone grab one. And we open them, and oh dear heavens, they were diamond necklaces from kay jewelers. All of us were like... "T, we can't.... what's happening?" ANyways, he wouldn't not let us take them, and long story short, I got in contact with the ANn Arbor 1st Elders, and I was like... did you know about the necklaces? And they just started laughing, and were like.. yeah! We helped him pick 'em out. Anyways, we both felt it would probably be best if they teach T from now on.
Then, we get a text from T at 3 in the morning and he's like... I"m about to go to jail. Apparently what happened was he and his friend, who just got out of jail, were out walking late that night and some guys started irritating them, so they fought them. Cops got involved, but fortunately, he's not in jail. But as of right now, three of my previous investigators (that I know of) are in jail. It's a crazy life serving here. I feel like everyone has been in jail.
SO that's that. We had a really interesting week. We taught Steve and Sam this week. But that was about it because everyone is out of town. We did get news on Transfers. Sister Hirz is leaving. Me and Sister Price are staying and we're getting another sister so that when I leave, they don't have to do an emergency transfer. Fortunately we haven't gotten any calls, so hopefully neither of us have to train. I'm making another Language Study Plan.
I don't really have too much else to report this week. Other than I'm leaving in 2 weeks, that's my big news. Oh, and this member wrote a song about me this week. It was hilarious. I'll send it.
Love you guys,
