Just kidding. A lot of the time I pray that the clouds will cover the sun, and sometimes it works. But sometimes, we learn through our trials. And here, the sun is making me stronger by almost killing me. Or maybe its just killing me hahah.
My beloved Brothers and Sisters,
This week... was hot. Everyone says that October is the worste week of the year, and I believe it because its so hot, and so dry. We walk so much. My calves are like rocks... but the rest of my body is weak. I think i stop at every other house asking for water. We~ve been passing tons of addresses to teach people, and so its been a lot of work. A lot of work this week. But its always funny because at the end of the day, and at the end of the week, I forget everything that we did.
But yesterday was cool. We went to church and there was a new couple, so I talked to them a little bit. They are from Venezuela, but the woman lived in Fort Lauderdale and this is their first week in Brazil. Her boyfriend speaks fluent spanish english and portugues, but she only speaks spanish and english still, so I conversed with her in broken Engish haha. They are super cool. Her boyfriend really wants to get baptized. He~s very interested in the church, they just need to get married and PRONTO he~ll get baptized. The only problem is that it is so hard SO HARD to get people married here. Here you have to have all of your paperwork and then after they look at all of your paperwork, you have to mark your wedding 1 month later. So here.... seriously, no one is married. It makes our work about 15 billion times more difficult.
Here, we find a lot of people who are interested in the church... but they aren~t married, so then we have to start the marriage process with them... Just that getting married is also very expensive. So then we have that problem. And the people who don~t have this whole marriage problem, they aren~t really interested. So that is the pickle that I am in here in this area.
I tried not telling anyone that this was my last month here in Brazil, but everyone knows just because of my portuguese. At first they think I~m Brazilian... but then I tell them that I~m from Florida, and they say... so this is your last transfer, because you speak Portuguuese like a Brazilian. So thats cool.
We were eating lunch at this one lady~s house the other day. Brazilians are very upfront. Apparently my companion is breaking out a little bit because of the sun. This one member told her that she~s going to return home ugly and that she~ll probably have to stay in hiding for the first month that she gets back until her face heals hahaha. then she continued to tell an elder that he has pig teeth. then she told another elder that she can barely understand his Portuguese and he~ll probably have an accent his whole mission... she then was like.... just kidding..... but really.
I almost died I was laughing so hard!
I don~t have much more to say. This week was very hot. This week that comes will be that much hotter. Sweeeet.
Well love you bunches!
