Hello Family and Friends!!!!
So this week has been a crazy awesome great wonderful confusing week. Like all weeks as a missionary.
So on Monday we had a Churrasco with the Zone. A churrasco is a barbeque in Brazil. YUMMMMM. I love meat, and I love barbeque, and I love brazil. What could be better? Ill tell you. NOTHING. It was fun! I am loving my area, but you are right, the last few days have been rainy as!
On Tuesday we had a zone meeting. I rode the bus a lot this week. Let me tell you about the bus. I hate it. Its really cram packed with tons and tons and tons of people. like....tons. probably a couple hundred people on one rickety bus. Its pretty cheeky. Later that day, sister melo and I tried to get into the house but couldn~t, so we figured... maybe we~ll try later. ha. we got home at like.... 9:25 and couldn~t get into the house, so we called the elders and told them we were locked out. so they come over and try to unlock the doors. but we couldnt, so Elder Mclane scaled the building, broke a few tiles, jumped over the gate and opened the door from the inside. it was pretty funny.
On Wednesday, I swear, every single female that we teach, at some point during the lesson we were teaching they would be topless. Breast feeding, just got out of the shower... you name it. And maybe thats normal in a developing country. I don~t really know. But it happens. I guess. Culture shockerrrr. Clothes here...optional.
On Thursday. Oh minha nossa! We had the bestttt family home evening. There was a family investigating the church there, and a few other people. The lady who lives at the house made pao de quejo... which is this roll with cheese in the middle. I think I ate like... 400. and every time i though... this is my last one... i was wrong. I couldn~t stop eating them. And me and my comp bought so many laranjinhas. laranjinhas are like those avocado and coconut popsicles that aunty rose makes. people just sell them in their houses here. they~re addicting and really cheap, so we buy tons of them because its so dang hot here.
On Saturday, our ward had 5 baptisms! WOOOOOO! Sister Melo and I have been teaching a family and Ingrid, this eight year old is getting baptized. now everyone in the famly is baptized except for their parents. that happens a lot here in brazil. but with a lot of prayer, and prayer and prayer, val and cosmo, the parents can be baptized.. theres just a lot of work that needs to be done first. We brought indrid to the church for her baptism and then realized we needed the cake from the house, so we literally ran back to the house to get the cake fro the baptism in the rain.
Yesterday it down poured on our way home from a meeting and ALL OF MY CLOTHES WERE HANGING ON A LINE. so all my clothes smell like wet dog. it happens. Also, i~ve burnt out 3 pairs of shoes THIS WEEK.. they are officially retired and sister melo and i are going to buy better shoes today. #STOKED.
We also ran out of money this week, and food... so we~re starving. We called up the elders and asked if they had any food..and they have 3 eggs. its kind of comical....except im starving. but its all good. we~ll eat...soon i hope hahah.
anyways, loveyou muito muito muito muito muito!
also give the lyles my love. theyve been in my prayers all week.
Love sister marshall
