What it do my favorite family and friends?
So transfer calls were on Saturday. I'll be staying here and Sister Hoskisson will be staying here as well. I'm going to be "senior companion" (whatever that means) and Sister Hoskisson will be training a greenie. Sister Jory Miller is off to bigger better things (in detroit mission of course). Still praying for the visa, but I love Ann Arbor! Lots of cool things happen.
When I read that Nick is going to Goiania, I almost screamed in the Library. I'm so excited!! That's so legit. So many Brazil goers. We're going to tear it up.. someday haha!
So we have a pretty solid sized teaching pool right now. It's legit! We're still teaching M____, but he's been having issues with giving up mary jane. It's funny because sometimes we talk to him when he's sober, and he's like.. I'll give that stuff up cold turkey, then we meet with him a few days later and he's high in our lessons and it's really aggrivating. I'm not sure what we're going to do with him, but he comes to church every sunday, he reads, and he prays, so we are still working hard with that.
We just started teaching this lady named P last week. She believes that all churches are true. But she's been reading the Book of Mormon and she knows that it is true. She is really good at recognizing the spirit and she is all around one of the coolest people that I know. She's had a lot of rough stuff happen to her in her lifetime. She grew up catholic, but then went to several other churches and recognized that all churches have some form of truth. We are working with her on taking the truth that she has and we can add on that using the scriptures. She is amazing. She's really sassy which is probably why I love her so much. She's on date to be baptized on October 12, but we do have to get her to quit smoking and drinking coffee. But she's so sweet.
Okay, so funny story time with Sister Marshall:
On Friday, I easily had the funniest day of my mission. We did splits with one of the member missionaries, so Sister Jory Miller went with Sister Moon to go to a few a appointments, and Sister Hoskisson and I went to visit M. M is this BEAUTIFUL Brasileira who had a baby last week. So we go to heart attack M, and I saw all these kids playing outside. We go and heart attack her door, saying things like "eu amo voce!" and "amamos bebes!" just random things in portugues. So we thought we were being super stealthy, but her kids were the kids outside, and went in screaming "mamae! people came and decorated your door!" She comes outside, and we were caught in the act. So she invites us in and she says a few things to me in Portuguese, and is like..do you understand? and I'm just like... naooo!!! But she's awesome so she just tells us how she's doing. She was so funny. Her kids were in the bathroom arguing so before I had time to do anything, she throws her 1 week old beautiful brazilian baby into my hands to yell at her kids. I'm so not allowed to hold children as a missionary, but it's not like i'm going to chuck some week old baby on the ground. So after we visit with her, I give her a short message in Portuguese, and say TCHAU! and then we went back to pick up Sister Jory Miller and Sister Moon. So here's where it gets funny.
Apperently, they went to visit a former, and on their way back to our meeting place, Sister Jory MIller saw a car that was identical to ours with the same first 3 numbers on the liscence plate checking into this apartment complex. And the girl in the passenger seat looked like me, so she ran up, pounced on the window and screamed as loud as she could. This girl, who she thought was me, almost poops her pants and Sister Jory MIller starts busting up laughing when she realizes that in the drivers side of the car is a little indian man. And she realizes that this lady who is screaming in pure terror is a little indian woman! The guy who was checking them in at the complex died he was laughing so hard, and she apologizes profusely to this indian couple and they drive away.
HILARIOUS.
Well. that was the best story of my life, so have a great week.
Thanks for the music. It can be any music as long as it is christian-ey. so we're good.
Thanks and give my love to everyone
